Wattage rating on speakers has little bearing on the sound quality. Some of the best component speakers cannot handle the 100+ rms watts that the cheaper pioneer/sony speakers claim. I'm running 50 watts rms to my mb quarts that can handle about 60 watts rms and I cannot hear anything but music (even when people are shouting). 50 watts rms is way too loud for just causual cruzing music. But then again, i know you'll probably want to slam the shit out of it when nobody is around =)
