Our 97 Corolla CE should be the same tail light. I took off the two bolts and the pushed the tail lamp assembly towards the outside of the fender, it slid out sideways. I'll try to post a photo.

TIP - Go ahead and replace all four rear bulbs at the same time, only a couple bucks more!
