How does one go about cleaning and detailing his engine bay? I saw a guy at a car wash powerwashing his but ....idk

As far as preparing for winter, the car is brand new, only 2200 miles on it so all I could see myself doing is extensive waxing. I do whatever the car happens to need at that time whether it's a tire rotation, or oil change, windshield wiper change or flush of fluids but I plan on maintaining the preventive maintenance schedule on this thing so I guess I'm good.
