I have an 05Xb with the Pioneer T1805 stero. I disconnected the battery to install a cool air intake and when I reconnected the battery I now have 'Error-4' on the display when I try to play a CD. Anyone know how to clear this message ??
I have the same stereo and its giving me the same problem. I've tried looking for the manual and the error codes for the stereo on the internet but I couldn't find it. If you find out how to fix it let me know. Thanks.
Most of the time even the radio manufacturer doesn't know what the code means.
Toyota isnt' allowed to get inside the radios. If there's a problem, we call whomever manufactured the unit and order a replacement.

We are not allowed to mess with/tear down radios to diagnose issues. As soon as a dealer splits the seal, the warranty is void.

i dont mean tear them about.. most toyota techs .. depending on the dealership are old timers and no nothing about these codes and or where to find the info on TIS
but there is a TSB or a page on TIS that shows you what those codes are..

lol i just took a 6 cd changer apart because it said full of cds but when i got it apart there was no cds ( on well ).. theres no seal on this factory ones..
i know theres a huge seal on the re-manufacture ones that the company sends you
at the point your vehicle is NOT under warranty, i think it is safe to assume that the stereo is past the warranty date as well. THEN what diffrence does it make what we do with the stereo... it does not want to give back the CDs that is in there and normally only one is the problem/damaged. i'm going to take it apart.... the warranty is gone and the repair center is going to charge an ARM and LEG if not two...
i just want to find the hidden fasteners now for the dash.
crimminy, they (SERVCO) wants me to purchase the manuals for toyota trucks (three volumes) each volume costing about $220 and shipping. they want to air it to hawaii....
have a 2004 scion xb i was wondering how you change the display message on the radio.
also i went to toyota 4 times now for error 4 now this last timei went there they didnt send us a new one they told us that one of the cds were too thick soo what are the cds or burnable cds we cant put in, and what were the error 4 for the last 3 times. is there a list of what the error messages are?
^^ When your check engine light comes on, Those other lights tend to come on as well. Find out code is stored and kicking the CEL and then you'll have an idea of what is wrong and needs to be repaired.
Your local parts store should have a scan tool that will tell you what the code is in the computer.

Excuse my ignorance but what does kicking the cel mean? When my little brother and I were in high school we were very good at breaking down engions and other parts but since then I haven't attempted to repair a car. I usually trade them in every 5 years but this scion will have to last a lot longer, no money to buy new.
So as I said at the begining I have no idea as to what certain things mean in car jargen.
