Drifting right under acceleration ?

I just picked up a 05 xB. Tires and alignment heve been check multiple times.

Seems that under acceleration it drifts to the right. Not while coasting, just under acceleration.

Wondering if anyone else has had this particular problem. Been told maybe its the electronic steering ?

Being told by Toyota that the xB doesn't have elctronic steering.

Not sure where to go from here.

I guess this is not a very common problem to the xB. Good to know.

Thanks
Fred

Sounds like torque steer, which is what any FWD car with two different length axles will experience.

You usually don't hear about it because it's to be expected with FWD cars.

Does it straiten back out when you let off the accelerator?

Jason, thanks for the reply. The more I drive it, the more I realize that it does drift to the right even while coasting. Not just under acceleration.

I've had a lot of fwd cars and am very familiar with torque steer.

Thanks
Fred

How's your camber/caster? did they check that when checking the alignment? Checked all the suspension componants and bushings?
