I just got a quote for a Yaris CE and it's $203/month, that's only $15 less per month than I'm paying for my WRX... WTF? They claim that the Yaris has an insurance rating of 4, and the WRX has a rating of 2, whatever that means.
I'm paying $1102 annually for my yaris 3dr thru pc financial. when i was calling around for quotes a lot of the places didn't have the yaris in their databases yet, so they did my insurance based on an '05 echo.
I have a perfect driving record but I think living close to downtown Toronto jacks up my rates. Very annoying. For the cost of insurance I could just lease two and save one incase I total the other!
I only pay $84 per month if I had full coverage but I only have liability at $42 per month!!!
The only thing I am not covered for is if I cause the accident! Everything else is covered if you get to know a good ins. broker! I was thinking of putting on full coverage because of the deer problems...but when I asked him about it he said that everyone is covered from animal attacks so to speak but you just don't realize it!!! I have never caused an accident and drive extremely carefully and am willing to risk the concequences if I do cause one!
Although I may increase it for the winter months! lol If you are not at fault for any type of problem...it's the responsibility of the other driver's insurance to cover your losses!!
I have been through the ringer with a rearend accident in 2001 and have had to learn the ins and outs of the ins world. It's amazing what you are covered for if you only knew!
Those rates are way out there unless you don't have a completely clean record OR you are not over the age of 26...I think that is the age cut? I'm 48 so I'm almost into the next price break!!! 50 and it goes DOWN again!!! lol
