Yaris, Toyota's new "baby" Lexus?

Move over Corolla, Toyota has a new baby and it's called the Yaris lol.

I'm just wondering if the Yaris really is a world class car even though it's a subcompact, at the lower end of the market and is priced a bit too high (though I think I might convince some that it isn't).

Aside from superb build quality, you get EBD with your ABS (as opposed to the standard ABS that was standard equipment on the Echo HB), optitron electronic gauges, anti-dive and anti-squat geometry suspension (only the Avalon (and Lexus of course) have it.), optional electrochromatic automatic dimming mirror with compass (and temperature), slide/reclining rear seats in the RS version, along with alloys, foglights and colour-keyed mirrors and I think you have a very decent vehicle!

You know..

When you hit the Toyota European website at least the first thing I think is why can't I get one of those here in the U.S., for instance don't tell me this car does not look cool.
http://www.toyota-europe.com/cars/ne...erso/index.asp

But then again.., the yaris verso looks like crap. On the other hand, the new Vitz has been selling better than the corolla in Japan.

That being said, the corolla has sold 25 million plus over the years and its been awhile now..

But yet the yaris is a good economical choice car, and the economy is doing the same thing it did back when the corolla was evolving. The only thing is that the Corolla is such a great car in America now, it finally has the kind of options that you find in a good surviving model.

I hope the Yaris gets their, I really, really do, but it is priced to close to the corolla I think, and so was the echo.

The Corolla Verso looks awesome. It has the same (or maybe similar) folding 3rd row seats like the Mazda5! I think the Mazda5 is a cool car and is priced right too! (starts at Cdn $19,995). That's cheaper than an 06 Civic LX or about par to a base Corolla S manual.

Fully loaded (we don't get nav), it's $25k or about the price of a base Camry LE, Accord DX or Altima 2.5 S

Canada

I have seen Yaris Verso first hand, It is a great car if there were some on the Canadian market I would buy one for sure, I would give up my Matrix anytime. While not so pretty on the outside Yaris verso is the best design on the inside. Never have I seen so much room and functionality in a compact car.
