echo automatic lost 4th/overdrive

My 2000 echo with auto trans won't shift into 4th gear. One day it was OK and the next morning, no 4th gear.

I was told to check the overdrive relay but have no clue which relay that is. The relays found all look alike. Any help out there?

I would pick up a Chiltons Manual and have a peek in there, other than that you may want to stop buy your local Toyota dealer and ask if there is a relay for that and if you could have a look at one. It's always easier to find something when you know what the part looks like. Oh and maybe ask where it's located so you can take yours out and bring yours in so you can compare it to the new one...

Your owners manual should list all the fuses and relays and what they control in the back somewhere...
