Update..see last sentance...Although most Toyota dealers will have the same price in the window, the Toyota.ca website does say that dealers are free to set their own prices. But any real price differance comes if you have a trade. Before tax(GST, PST), the Yaris we are looking at with various options is $20,686. Our trade is a 2002 Celica GT, First dealer offered $15,900 (after haggling). Second dealer was $16,400,(after haggling) but not mentioning other dealers offer. ( Honda dealer was $17,700 on a new Civic) We have 3 more dealers to check out before diciding whether to buy a Yaris or go back to Honda. Anyone have any trade in stories....Thanx ...... Update... Just ordered our 2006 Yaris 3dr RS Auto, will be here in a couple of days, can't wait..

Reason: Update
Man, which dealer did you go to to haggle? I went to 4 and neither would budge.
Before Access Toyota, I went to Downtown Toyota cause they'd always give us a better price since the owner actually owns the land so there's no rent to pay. For our 00 Corolla, trading for an 02 Camry, they gave us a $1,500 larger discount than another dealer. But now if they're refusing to negogiate, then what incentives do I have to be loyal to one dealer?

All I can say is if you have a trade, if they ask what you want for it, add $2000 to what you will accept, then let them counter that price, but my rule is don't tell them how much you want for it, tell them to make the first offer, and never accept the first offer they make as they will always lo ball you, They will tell you "Black Book" price, but that price is only a guidline, They would love to sell your trade for $5-$6000 more than they gave you for it, but most will be happy if they get $3-$4000 so thats where haggling can make a big differrance, just remember the car and its condition, along with popularity of that car has alot to do with how much they will haggle. ie: look at what the ugly "Pontiac Aztec" or a 10 year old Hyundai is worth as a trade compared to a Toyota or Honda for example.
