Well, the "official" word from our sales guy is that "the brochure was meant to be dealer-only, Toyota decided after it was produced not to add in the audio input, I shouldn't have handed out that info to you, but being "the nice guy" that I am I wanted you to have as much info as I could give you when you put down your deposit..." To which the response was first

and then

- as we clearly asked about the audio input when we put down the deposit and were assured that it was "definitely" part of the stock RS audio system.
So, while the a**hat who sold us the car initially (and who I hope to never have to deal with again) blew it off, the business/financing manager who we were working with when said AH gave this "meh, nothin we can do" spiel was PO'ed enough at this poor customer service to offer to try and "fix" the problem. Long story short, if Toyota can't/won't put in the audio jack for us, we get a "free" paint treatment as compensation.

Pffft. We should find out which it is tonight when we go in to drop off some paperwork.
So, the moral of the story is, when you're asking about details that are important to you on a new Toyota (that you're more or less buying sight unseen) make sure that these details are in fact present in the "official" brochures... or "never trust your salesperson, get everything in writing."
If Toyota does decide to cough up the audio input jack (doubtful at this point I'm thinking) I'll re-post.
