Canada Yaris wheel offset

Note! Scroll down and read my post on Dec 1st
.Does anyone know what offset one should go with for either 16" or 17' rims when installing on a lowerred 2006 Yaris 3dr so the tires don't rub on fender lip when you hit a big dip in the road etc. If I go with 16's, tires will probably be 205/45/16, or 195/60/16, but if I go with 17's, tires will be 205/40/17. wheel size will be determined by best deal I can find.
I have heard offset should be 40-44 but which, if either is correct? Whats the offset of the Toyota 16" they offer as an option for the Yaris? (I won't be buying the Toyota (TTE 16" Pitlane) rims as the cost is outrages, for $200-$300 more I can get a complete tire/wheel/accessories package and not look like every other Yaris with Toyota wheels)Local Toyota parts/service didn't even have a clue about offsets. Thanx to all who answer..Beep Beep

They are 16" TTE (Toyota Team Europe) Pitlane...

TTE nine-spoke design ”Pitlane”

Brilliant-silver with TTE logo

Perfect brake ventilation

TÜV approved

7Jx16” for tyre size 205/50 R16

http://www.tte.de/popup/tp_alloy_wheels.htm

TTE does not list the offset unfortunately...

Went to www.TRDparts.jp and think I found specs for some of the wheels based on the newer Vitz:

Vehicle
Model Code
Application
Size
Off Set
Remarks

VitzSCP10,NCP10・13
42610-SP0E0-00
14×6.0JJ
29

42610-SP0F0-00
14×6.0JJ
38

42610-SP0A0-##
15×6.5JJ
40
Recommended wheel to fir with TRD Sportivo

As well,

Vitz
NCP91/RS only
42610-SPK20-16
17×7.0J
+50
Reference Tire Size 205/45-17

I'm guessing based on this that a 14 inch wheel with offset of 30 to 40 "should" fit - depending on how it was actually made. The bigger the wheel, more offset +50 when you get to 17's.

It's hard to say, my 2006 Yaris RS uses the NCP91 chassis code...

Not sure if the CE, LE use the same one or not, but I'm guessing since us Canucks only get the 1.5 litre engine, the chassis cod is the same for those as well...

Most people seem to like 17's. As for offsets, it really depends how wide the wheel is. I know for 15" wheels, as stated above, most manufacturers tend to recommend a +40 offset.

What wheels have you been looking at?

Canada

I,m on a budget, so all I have found so far that I can afford in a 16" or17" are the Motegi MR7, FRDRacing's FRD6, FRD8, or FRD10 and another brand from Fountain Tire, but can't recall the name, Price range from $119 - $136 Canadian, I'm stilling looking for others in that price range though,

I like the Motegi!

Are you looking at online stores for your wheels or local shops ?

Canada Both

I'm checking for deals at both local shops and online, but when the local Big O tire shop wants $160 for a tire (Kumho Ecsta 711 size 205/40/17) and the online shop<tiretrends.com> only wants $95 it means I can afford to look at spending more on rims which means more to choose from. The only Canadian online shop with prices I can afford is tiretrends, so unless I find another Canadian online shop with better prices or a local shop that is willing to deal guess where I'll be buying from.

The wheels I just bought were from KalTire and were $90 each plus a $60 tuner kit with all the nuts, etc. They had some others around that price too. I put a pic in my introduction.

You say tomatoe.... yes apparently they are known both both as MR7 and Evo7 - same difference. They're 14x6, using the stock 175/65r14 tires. And yes, alohaYaris - I agree it would look much better lowered. Maybe in the spring.

Problem solved

After alot of measuring and calculating, and because of my budget, I have ordered a set of American Racing 16X7, +42offset polished wheels with Kumho 205/45/16 tires. I had tried a friends +32 offset wheels w/205/50 tires, but the front rubbed when hitting a dip etc
(Cars lowerred). I'll post fit results when installed.
and a pic if I can figure out how to post pics
