Some questions for current 06/07 Yaris owners...

Hi, I just ordered a white RS and it takes almost 3 months for delievery (will be build in Japan in Feb & ship to Canada in March). But I have a few questions:
1. Is there an Xenon upgrade kits available? Does Yaris use H4 type headlights?
2. Is the speedometer light up in Amber or white/blue color at night? I know it probably amber version in Canada...
3. Is the Rally type spoiler available for order thru dealers or they are still back order?
4. My dealer said my Yaris will be 2007 model, but is there any different from 2006?
5. Is cruise control or side airbag an option?

I'm not an owner but I'll answer to the best of my knowledge

1) should be. I've already seen a white Yaris with HIDs. I'm unsure of the headlight type
2) It's amber for the RS
3) no idea, didn't ask
4) The 07 model should be identical except for one thing - see no. 5
5) side and side curtain airbag will be available on the 07 model.

There is a rally spoiler you can order through the dealer. There is a picture of one on a white Yaris 3dr in the brochure. But warning! I ordered a rally spoiler and window visors for my car over two months ago and still no sign of them, and the dealer has NO info as to when/if they will arrive. Problem I had was my dealer required full payment for the spoiler before they would place the order. So Toyota has my $460 (tax/instal incl) but I have nothing to show for it except a reciept.

My RS should comes with factory spoiler, but the small ugly one. If I upgrade to the rally kind, will it leave the mark from the existing spoiler? If so, that's stupid that they didn't let give me an option to upgrade that when I place my order.

And for the speedometer display. Does it mean that CE & LE models comes with white/blue instead of Amber color? If so, that's sad because CE & LE comes with something that I like more that RS (i.e. silver centre piece & white panel beside the p/w, p/dl button)

And does Yaris use H4 light bulb? It should said on the owner's manual.

YARISinWHITE, I have some questions for you. What dealer did you go to? Did they offer you any deals? Is it a 3-month wait for all colours? Did you have to pay any deposit?

Also, does anybody know if the slide/fold flat 60/40 rear seats will become standard for 2007 models? The only reason I'm interested in the RS model is for those fold flat seats.

Hey, YarisInWhite, that's exactly what I thought, I prefer the white speedo to the orange one , that doesn't happen only on the yaris, but also my camry, I love the exterior of the SE but the white display of the LE/XLE(to me, the bright white ones look more upscale), coz the SE came with Amber/orange as well. I personally love orange, but not on the display, even red and blue would look much more appealing to me.^^. . Besides, I love the contrast that the white side door switch panals offer. For the centre console. Originally, I prefer the silver one to the black one as well, but as I saw the actual thing, I noticed the quality is not as good as I want it to be, so I guess to me, make carbon fibre trim kit standard on RS it maybe great, good balance between the silver and glossy black plastic.

I ordered mine from Heninger Toyota, not sure if any other color has a waiting list, but white for sure need to wait for ~3 months. I ordered that few days ago and will produce in Japan in Feb, by the time that it arrive will be almost end of March. And I put down $500 non-refundable deposit.
But I did see a white LE in Stampede Toyota parking lot but not sold yet (seems like) and that is the only one left in Calgary (I think)

I do agree that the orange display is kind of ugly but too bad we are in Canada, not much choices. For the Camry, I will wait for next year's new model and see what it looks like. I like Camry a lot before and I personally owned 3 generations of Camry before. Because they used to made in Japan but now they start to made in America, it is kind of sad.
But what I found is the first shipment of new generation Camry always made in Japan then start from next shipment will be from America. I will buy this new gen Camry again if they were made in Japan.
