Unhappy Car wrecked

You probably don't know me here, but I (used to) drive a 2003 Echo Hatchback with 58,948 km on it. Yesterday, a truck driver decided not to check his blind spot when I happened to be there. He came right over at about 120km/h and actually pushed me partly into the next lane. My car was completely destroyed and I feel lucky that I am alive.

Does anyone have any comments?

that sucks. but good thing you're ok! is your (or his) insurance going to cover the accident?

also, instead of selling your echo to an auto wrecker dealer, why not keep it, and then when you get a new echo, you'll have a lifetime of free replacement parts?

i have an 03 echo that i recently purchased and i LOVE it. i'd be really sad if something bad happened to it, so i can feel your pain.

Sorry to learn about that! Sounds like the Echo has protected you adequately. Irresponsible drivers are everywhere. We all have to drive defensively. I am no driving instructor but I think I can boldly say that we not only have to see but also have to be seen clearly any time while driving. Amy's suggestion is interesting but I think that in the case of a total loss, the insurance company that pays you for your loss will normally have a right to take the damaged car.

Hey Redneck, just give thanks that you are alive. Cars will come and go. As long as you are alive and healthy you can always work hard and get another car.

Sorry to hear about your situation. that sucks, but like others said, its good that you're okay. Just proves that small cars can be just as safe as bamonth SUV's. If that happened to me I would be mad of course cause I put money into the car-extra stuff, yet at the same time I see it as an opportunity to get a new car which I find exciting or you can get the same car but with more options on it. If its used more than likely you can afford it with those options that you didn't have on your car. Or use the money the insurance gave to you to put towards a new car, sure it may not pay for it all but a hefty down payment will make way for lower payments and you can pay the car off sooner. But in the end its totally up to you! Best of luck!
