What have I changed...well just minor cosmetic stuff but I think it still adds up and its legit, for the most part. I have a Panasonic headunit, Kenwood eXcelon (top of the line stuff) front and rear speakers, sub and amp. Tint windows. Aftermarket fog lights, seat covers, and wheel cover. Also a K&N air filter, you never know when you have to outrun a Viper or Corvette! I have yet to get seat belt covers. I hope to continue personalizing my car. I would love to get a moonroof but its more than its worth. If I didn't have the extended warrenty I would get more mods under the hood maybe when it runs out. Maybe some decals on the outside to add some power...

I looked at my the invoice for the fog lights and it just says pilot driving lights, sorry I don't know which brand. I have an 03 sedan so the bumber is different than yours-mine has the honeycome grill so the guy cut a hole in it for the lights, I think it looks good as far as intergating the lights in the grill. I originally wanted the fog lights where the OEM lights go but the guy said there's no place to put aftermarket ones there as far as mounting goes. So I wanted them as far apart from each other but the guy put them on either side of my license plate, at first I wasn't happy but its grown on me and I like it! You know how people have extra driving lights under the "normal" ones, well with me and I've seen with others mine are closer to the center, kind of creates a "V" like pattern with the light set up which IMO I think is better. I can tell you this, mine are bright! But its low enough (as far as physical position) so it doesn't distract on coming traffic too. Sorry for the novel. As for the K&N filter I was quoted at around 50.00 I almost had to pay more but I told the guy over the phone I was quoted at around 50.00. I just got mine at a local auto store they had to order it as it wasn't in stock but obviously its depends on where you live and whom your getting it from. Its obviously a very minimal boost, some people notice, some don't, I notice, and I'm satisfied with it, I think over time you'll notice more, I don't know if there is a "break in" period with an air filter, that kind of sounds silly. I also don't know if temperature has to do with anything but I'm wondering the warmer the temp the more boost or at least its at its maximum, I could be talking out of my butt, maybe someone else will know. Of course after that you want more hp so maybe in the future as I stated earlier I'll put more mods under the hood. ANyway I'll shut up now. Hope that helps more than confuses.

Canada Changed

First off- shocks and springs. This makes the car's highway manners stable, not scary.

I've also done the AEM cold air intake, shift knob, TRD strut tower brace, tires, Brickwall shift bushings, Kumho winter tires, and painted the wheelcovers dark grey.

On the stereo side, I swapped out the factory 4" dash speakers for a set of Fosgates, added a 10" sub in a custom box which takes up no additional trunk space, and an MTX amp.

In the next two weeks, I'll be adding a WheelSkins steering wheel leather wrap, and Echo RS rims.

Next up: Falken Ziex ZE-512s (or Kumho 711s), a Megan header and better exhaust, and a spoiler.

Then extra chassis bracing, racing seats, and a Centerforce clutch.

That will be all.

forgot some stuff...

forgot to post:

gray leather wheelskin wheel cover (took me and my son 3 hours to stitch it on!)
siliblade silicon windshield wipers (the last wiper you will need - good for 5 years off of EBAY)

as far as the fog lights, i dunno....but i don't believe in being cheap! probly PIAA. Also, I am going to get the dealer to install keyless entry ($279).

Maybe....an......airhorn! for all those times you really would love to have one!

Just priced the leather seat cover kit....full leather, no vinyl anywhere...$879! includes door inserts. I definitely am going to get it. Why? Because I really love this CAR!!

i want to:

add fog lights...
change my headlights...
change my air filter...
change my shocks and springs...

what brands should i get... i live in vancouver, bc. i don't wanna show up to a shop and tell them i need those and they'll charge me $1000 each... plus installation and i'll be like sure... go ahead... i don't wanna look stupid and get taken advantage of... i wanna show up and make them think i know my stuff...

Cool

Hey intoksicated, do you have the four door sedan or 2 door? Reason I asked is you referr to only putting a security system to the two front doors. I have a two door. Reason I'm asking is I would like to eventually or plan on getting soon a security system, similar to yours. Typical set up, alarm, mobilizer etc. Is your system sensitive or is it reasonable as far as what will put it off. I hate alarms that are so sensitive they go off every two seconds, okay that's an exaggeration but you know what I mean. I know for U.S. model the 2-door ECHO doesn't have the power window or locks as an option at all. I could ask the guy at the aftermarket place if that makes a difference, I mostly referring to power locks, i only have roll down windows. How about you? Did your security system come with remote keyless entry? or was that separate? Personally I don't need that but I know the alarm is remote, or something like that. Hope that makes sense. And how much, estimate did the security system run ya? I know it depends on set up and brand, of course your in Canada (right?) so I don't know the exchange. Sorry I'm ignorant but what is a Autopage rs-855lcd? Is that a brand or type of security set up?
Don't worry you're not the only one who doesn't know there brands . Obviously someone here can anwser your questions or go on line at different aftermarket stores and see what brands might fit your needs or what you might like. Good luck!

hey echoknight2000...

i have a 4 door sedan... unfortunately i only grabbed the 1 zone system... meaning it only protects the front half of your car... from front bumper to front passenger doors... so if someone breaks into my rear doors or rear window... my alarm is useless... at the time of installation i really needed an alarm b'coz there was a series of robberies in my neighborhood at the time... so i gathered all my pennies and i can only afford this one...

sensitive... not really... i know what you mean... if someone with a loud muffler drives by... it can set off your alarm... this one haven't yet...

now for keyless entry... the alarm came with it... but mine was manual door locks... they had to install actuators for the keyless entry to work... so when u disalarm it unlocks the driver side... disalarm again and it unlocks the front passenger side... actuators cost extra and of course installation is extra too...

so here's the rundown of my expenses... all canadian dollars

alarm $50 - installation $100
actuators (1 each front doors) $15 each - installation $60 each

autopage rs-855lcd is an alarm system... see how nice it is... http://www.autotechs.com/items/item1226.htm

Ah-my favorite subject, since I love dressing up my ride. Here's my list:
Two Jensen 8-inch cannon-type subs in trunk-and yes, they are way too loud.
Jensen amp-man, those things are way under-rated
Theater lights (blue detail lights placed about 2 inches on either side of ashtray, pointing down) you wouldn't believe the comments I get.
Black door moulding wrapped around fender wells-sounds terrible, looks great and no dings!
Black hardware screen wrapped around lower front fender grille-you'd be amazed how it keeps rocks outta the radiator. Looks stock too
Alpine head unit-a caution here-Crutchfield's install kit DOES NOT work-you will be cutting and shaving the thing for hours. And it still comes loose!
Chrome/Carbon fiber shift knob
K&N high-flow filter
Fake Borla tip-looks good, no change in sound
In the future:
Einke wheels
Hood air scoop
Better tinting! I did a lousy job.
Ground package
New speakers all around
Hood mounted rock deflector/bra
