Australia Yaris speedo error????

Anyone in Australia, or elsewhere have a speedo error problem? My 5 door Yaris manual has a reading of 7 KMH fast at actual road speed of 100 KMH (tested with 2 GPS units). The dealer replaced the speedo/instrument unit and its now worse! The error is 9 KMH now. Funnily enough, the odometer is correct for distance travelled
My car has the full digital instrument display, the error varies over the different speed ranges

All cars show are showing too much on the speedometer. It's completely normal, and I think the reason is because of the psychological apects. Doesn't the dealer know about that?

I don't know if 7km/h at 100 is the norm, but it is showing too much, right?

Now showing 9 KMH too much at 100 KMH, when the dealer fitted the new speedo and my car has the bone stock, factory cheese cutter tyres fitted. At lower speeds the error is less.

Hopefully this http://www.ripoff.com.au/html/toyota_yaris.html will make Toyota look further at my problem.

I initially thought that was a possibility, however the distance odometer reads correctly! IF the tyre sizes were wrong, it should read the same error percentage as the speedo.
Its a problem within the speedo head itself, for the speed indication only.

you can't compare with GPS, because GPS can't refresh as fast as your speedo.

Try doing the same in any other car and on the same road so the GPS reads from rouchly the same area.

This way you can prove me wrong when I claim every car shows too much. I have only seen one car that read too little which was a problem when you meet the Police.

Australia Update

My test was done on a flat road.......the readings on both GPS and speedo were stable over a distance of approx 2 kilometres, it took several test runs to establish an accurate measurement.
See also update information on www.ripoff.com.au showing the speedo error table taken from the factory Yaris Repair CD. Shows that Toyota have little faith in speedo accuracy.
