2007 Yaris Sedan

Hey you beautiful Canandians or any other country who has the new Yaris sedan, I know you guys got the Yaris sedan before us Americans. Question is, has anyone tested drove one? Plan on getting one or is interested? I know the sedan is coming out soon in the states but since you guys got it first, just wondering if anyone has any experience driving it or their own review on it. I saw it at the local auto and it looks nice. Toyota made a big mistake by locking the doors, but anyway I'm wondering if anyone has at least sat in one, can tell me how the head room is and space. Thanks!

The Yaris sedan is not being sold yet in Canada, at least not to my knowledge. I haven't been inside the car so I couldn't really comment, but I'd assume the head room and space is relatively the same as the hatchback, since they're both pretty much the same car with same interior space and all, bar the extra trunk you get for the sedan instead of the extra space height-wise of the hatchback. So if you plan to buy a 27" CRT TV (not plasma or LCD) and don't wanna take it out of the box that comes with it, don't get the sedan unless you don't care for the trunk-lid not closing when you put the box of TV in. I did just that with my Echohatch with the rear-seats folded down, the TV within the box fits in the hatch comfortably, with room to spare I should say.

But to answer your question, even though I have yet to sit inside, my educated guess is that you'd expect same head and leg room as you would in the Yaris hatchback.

Canada

Hey Echoknight2000 when I was ordering my Yaris about two weeks ago I got talking with the sales man about the Yaris Sedan he told me they should start rolling in by the end of March he also told me that they are worried that the Yaris Sedan will be taking away sales from the Toyota Corolla just thought I would add that in I also agree with ECHOhOLIK I am sure the room will be very good in the Yaris Sedan

hi y'all......well i just got myself a yaris 1.5 E A/T 2 days ago.....and its my first post here ......and i live in indonesia(RH Drive)....got it for 158,500,000 Rupiah which is around 15K USD. =)

pretty good drive after using it for the last 2 days. but weird front view from the driver seat....cant see the edge of the front of car.

heres some pics when they were launched like 2 weeks ago.
http://www.yarisgroovy.com/stuff/

anyway specs are here.http://www.yarisgroovy.com/groovy/spesifikasi/
but its not in english.....hehehe....

things i like about it.....Its a Yaris. =)

some things that i don't feel right about......my timing belt/ fan belt runs rough....the brakes has a weird sound when i press on the pedal.....not sure whats wrong.....

anyway the leg room is pretty big....spacious.....and alot of headroom allowance. but remember we asians are smaller in built. i am 174cm in height. ......and one of my friend test drove it...think he is 184cm+ (basketballer)......he find it ok....not that bad.

another main thing is that mine is a 5 door yaris.....dunno y the indonesian toyota not bringing in the 3 door yaris which i think will look really good after a rim change and a drop.

Thanks guys for your response. On the Toyota Canadian site it says the sedan is here so I figured it was in show rooms, but I guess its on its way just like it is here in the U.S. Can't wait to sit in one and maybe test one. Yeah if I remembered I think the sedan is a little shorter in height than the previous ECHO sedan and the Yaris hatch is just a hair higher than the ECHO sedan. Yeah i read that the Yaris sedan is almost or about the same size as the Corolla. Obviously the next Corolla will be bigger. I personally don't think the Yaris sedan will take sales away from the Corolla, at least in the U.S. Generally its more bang for you power here. So if they are about the same size yet if you can get a decently equiped Corolla at the same price as a fully loaded Yaris sedan...well? It can go either way I guess, but I'm guessing Toyota will raise the price on the next gen Corolla to give the Yaris more room, obviously not much-just speculation. I'm really rooting for the Yaris sedan and hatchback in the U.S. I hope it does well and it looks promising, especially since gas prices are going up. I know people complained that the new Yaris doesn't get much more than the previous ECHO as far as gas mileage and the Corolla gets about the same, but if you think about it, if someone is on a limited budget then the Yaris looks more enticing. The Yaris is the "poor mans" Corolla, I don't mean that in an offensive way, its just one way of looking at it, don't get me wrong the Yaris is really nice IMHO. Anyway I'll stop rambeling.

A Corolla is larger than a Yaris IIRC. The current Corolla is about the same size as a Gen 2 Camry and the Yaris is about the same size as a AE92 Corolla. So there is some size difference.
