I just found out about 3 hrs ago that a dent and some scratches have landed on my beloved Yaris RS. After a trip to the police station, based on the evidence, the policeman thought that somebody (that parked right beside me on the mall parking lot) must have swung the door opened really hard and hit my Yaris.
I don't get it, I always park the car in the centre of the lot, not too close to either side, almost always perfectly centred. And why did a careless b**** or son of a b**** had to open the door carelessly and hit my car, why? why? why? why? why?
So please, next time when you open your car door, please open it carefully! make sure that it doesn't come into contact with another car. Or if you do, at least leave a note/contact info and be responsible for what you do. Not to mention that if a person cannot open the car door appropriately/carefully, she/he shouldn't be driving on the road at all.
The policeman suggested me that I don't file anything, because my insurance rate may go up. Plus, the repair cost is probably less than the deductible ($500). He suggested that I pay for the repair myself. As a student on a tight budget, this really hurts, hopefully not for long.
To that b****/son of a b**** who has no decency to be responsible for your actions. I hope you rot in hell for eternity.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaa yes the old dent/scratch in the door because someone is so lazy to check if they are about to hit someones car like yours EEEEERRRRRRRR I would be very upset also I am sorry to hear about your dent that is very unfortunate but I have a question for you what is a Student doing buying a $ 20,000 dollar car????????? Are you financing this or your parents buy it for you?????????
who cannot afford 250$ per month fot a car...base model is 16000 can,as cheap as it gets i find!!
I think he meant having to pay for such a repair either from his own pocket or from insurance, and I agree that he shouldn't pay for something that isn't his fault but rather the fault of someone else's carelessness.
Heck if your car got dinged bigtime, you'd be pissed off too.
When the parking spaces are narrow(like most are), I park in the least busy part of the lot and take up two spaces, if anyone says anything I just reply, theres lots of empty spaces it's not like I'm using the last 2, and if they will pay for any dings I will gladly only use one space, I'd rather walk an extra 30 seconds than have to fork out $200 plus for a little ding caused by some inconsiderate A hole

I've driven to the mall, I can walk the 1 1/2 to 2 blocks to get to the door.
not to discriminate.......was in oklahoma for a couple of years in college.....and i realised that most people who drive a ford f150 typle vehicle........normaly dun give shit to the cars beaside them..........they seems to just roar into the lot and then park in the space really at an angle (not straight )......opened the door fully and give people shitty looks.
really hate these A hole........espeacially when i am asian kid in town....those country rednecks sure discriminate........makes me pissed when i think of it.
well this is my side of story....no harm intended.....

when i see a car purposely taking up 2 spots, i key the hell out of it. love seeing some brand new red sports car taking up two spots. unless its parked way way out there(like you seem to be). i saw a brand new pickup parked in 4 spots only a few rows deep.... lots of action there.

I hear ya. I hate it when there are tons of parking space, yet some fucker in a bigass pickup or SUV park right beside me, really close too!! Thank god I was in my car those times and make sure the owners didn't slam the door open and ding my car, otherwise I'd be majorly pissed, wait 'til they walk away as I do some revenging damage on theirs. I don't get people sometimes......
I had a couple of door dings pulled out for around $75.00...it can be done as long as the paint is not broken and most places guaruntee their work and that the dent won't reappear for the life of your car. I thought the dent I had would never come out clean, but I can't even tell where it was now...I work in a dealership and I am extemely picky. Call around or call a Toyota dealership where you are to see who they would recommend...and hopefully the scratches will buff out with a wet-sanding and a coat of wax...good luck, I hope you can get your baby looking like new again. I know how it feels...almost as bad as getting your heart ripped out!!

No comment about the "key the hell out of it" remark, other than to say it's no wonder insurance rates are so high, and remember, Smile, cause you might be on camera.
