Canada Soon to be a Yaris Owner

Hello everyone,

I had just purchased a 2007 Yaris Hatchback...does anyone know how many km I have to drive before I am able to drive over 80km/hr?

thanks in advance,

Cheers

I bought a 2005 Echo Hatch.... same engine.... almost hit redline on the way home after picking it up from the dealer! (Different schools of thought about break in procedures)

Traditionally, they say to keep it at varying revs and under 3500rpm and under 80km/hr for the first 1500 KM or so....

I have 30k on my car now....i drive it fairly hard and the engine still sounds great, doesn't feel like it's lost any power (the little that it begins with), and doesn't burn any oil.

Really, I think that on modern engines, you can drive the car like you normally would as soon as you get it.
