USA Buying a Yaris with out test driving it!

Howdy,y'all I'm new ,to the form and new to Toyta,I've been looking at little cars with good fuel mileage since gas went up to over 3.00 dollars a gallon last summer and its up 2.79 now here in NC. After looking at Kia,Ford,Hyundai,Chevy, just about all of them I'm going with a Yota!

The Yaris is the car for me And I think I'm going to go for the CE Sedan with power package, its just a little bit more, but I will be more comfortable,it has better brakes, stereo, etc. I've been kellyblue booking and edmunds.coming the yaris and it looks like the price they are asking is pretty close to the national price, the price my dealer is giving on the car is not that much over invoice.

I think I will call my dealer on Monday, and set it up and go and head and order this car I've still not test drove one,but I have been in love with this little car since I first say it. I have looked at Yaris, today infact, but I could not drive it,because it has been sold

I have driven a 2006 Kia Rio,and was very impressed with they way it drove and its hp and over steering and feel of the car. I'm sure that the Yaris will be a better ride than than the kia or just as good, and I like the looks and the specs of the Yaris better. I know that I trust Toyota more than I do Kia,I almost bought the Kia,because I liked the Rio so much, but then Toyota came out with the Yaris.

So hopefully,I I will order my 2007 CE yaris sedan with the steel wheel powerpackage,Nautical Blue, with charocal inter price 14,970 or 14,983 with 13 bucks in gas that the website shows as another option,I think I can talk them into giving me the gas. I don't think I will get floor mats unless they will through them in for free aswell. Do you guys know any good online sites that sale yaris floormats? Toyota sells them for I think 189? Which is way,to much I can always get the cheap plain ones at Walmart.

Thanks for your help folks,I appreciate it!!! hopefully very soon I can post some pics of my new ride

later y'all

Hey congrats! I only want to say that the dealership should have offered to bring the car that you want in and have you test drive it before you make a final decision. I am sure you are going to love it anyway.

I've test-driven both the Yaris Liftback and the Yaris Sedan. I have to say that the Liftback is more impressive in a performance aspect, while the Sedan is a more confortable ride. The Liftback has more pep and can get for 0 to 60 with no problems, while the Sedan is very sluggish and I had to coax it up past 70 mph. The Sedan's interior is much nicer and the quality of the ride was more advanced. But I think the Liftback won me over in the end. It's tiny and cute as a button and had some nice handling. The Sedan is comfortable, but will leave you in the slow lane.

hen88, I was wondering if you test drove the xA? Just wondering if there is more PEP in that car. It starts at $13,320, and it already has the Power everything and MP3 player.

Yes - I have test-driven the Scion xA, and the ride felt like I was in a tin box. The car did not feel like the quality and ergonomics were up to the standards of the rest of the Toyota line. Also - I didn't like the interior design. The seats were comfortable enough, but the ride just felt too flimsy for my taste. The Yaris Liftback is definitely a nicer ride. The ergonomics are more improved compared to the xA. You definitely feel less of the road, and the handling was much better. I also like the interior design better. The only downside to the Yaris is that it is only a 2 door. But otherwise, I found it preferable to the xA.

I just plunked down a deposit and ordered a Yaris hatch today. Can't wait 'til it shows up...

Can anybody answer this question:

Is the power steering different between the Yaris and the xA? I think most everything is the same under the skin, but I've heard that the (older) xA design uses an engine-powered pump while the Yaris' is electrically powered.

Can anybody confirm this?

Yes the power stearing is different from the Yaris and the xA. I don't have a link but every or just about every magazine mentions the fact that the Yaris's set up is electronically control-the specific term has left my head at the moment. You can also go to the Toyota web site and under specs it should say. Hope that helps!
