Congradulations Stuts!! That's awesome. Although as you said painful I'm sure you're very happy about your purchase. I'm jealous! I assume you got the hatch right? 5-door? 3-door? Getting a new car is very exciting, something to mess with-at least for guys. What color is it? Can't wait to see pictures!

Hey stuts, I think silver looks good on that car-from the pictures I've seen and I saw a silver three door at the auto show back in March which I thought looked sharp. I don't have remote keyless entry or whatever you want to call it but I do have remote arm and disarm for my security system. As sad as this is I think its fun to play with, and you also feel important like you have a high tech car and its more expensive than it really is-okay maybe that's just me What do you mean its a code thing and it won't start without the keys? I think if you have a new car and have the money, security is a good investment, even if some one does steal your car (heaven forbid) at least you won't be clueless about it. For example if you're in school or work and your car is out of sight and sound (alarm) and someone breaks in your transmitter (depending on brand) might beep or flash and you will know someone has attempted or has taken your car. Happy motoring!!

Congrats STUTS on finally getting your Yaris. Hope you enjoy it for a very long time as I've enjoyed my Echohatch. Welcome to the family and I know you'll love driving it.

Getting the Club is a smart move, a great visual theft deterent. The only annoying thing (as a friend of mine has one) is that it does take those precious seconds to put it on (and to take it off), especially if you're in a hurry or something. Nonetheless, it's the saying of "better be safe than sorry" and it'd be better with one than without. My Echohatch, however, has no alarm/immobilizer/club whatsoever. The way I think of it, is that if a skillful thief wanna steal my car, he/she can steal it no matter what I do. Besides, if my hatch is stolen, then I might be looking into a new Yaris If my car is done up with mods and stuff, then I'll purchase an alarm system of some sort. Right now I'm just enjoying it bone stock.

Last week I took my 2005 Echo in for a replacement rear bumper cover as a result of an accident in December. The rental car they gave me for a day was an 2007 Yaris 5 door with 15km on it.

Compared with my Echo the Yaris has considerably better noise insulalation. The doors are a lot thicker and make a satisfying thud when closed. It also takes corners a lot better. I always find myself leaning side to side when taking sharp corners in my Echo. I don't have plans on switching to a Yaris anytime soon though. The ads for the Mercedes B 200 Turbo have been catching my eye, but its a little too rich for my blood.

I don't worry about anyone stealing my Echo, I expect thieves would target more expensive cars.
