Canada It's here!!!! just picked it up :)

Hi all,

Well my Saturday pickup turned into tonight as the car came early.

it had 13Km's on it. aaaahhhh that new car smell.
I'll post pics on the weekend.
My wife wants me to go get some coffees and a muffin,, himmm which car should I take???
haha

I am going to track my milage and post it every couple of weeks.
I am looking for a good alarm with possibly remote starter. Anybody have any comments on that?

Anyway, time for coffee.

Chat at ya later.

Congrats.

how much are you willing to spend on the alarm? and will you plan to put it on yourself or professional installation?

Thanks,

Well, I don't mind spending a couple / few hundred if it comes with all bells and whisles.
but for that cash I would want a two way key faab with remote start.
I could install it myself but it would depend on how much time it takes, you know what they say time is money.

Do you have any suggestions?

Well, I got a Fox 8200 on ebay $60 USD shipped. Brand New. If you want something fancy and elegant, I'd suggest something else. However, if you want something that'll work with features and what not, the Fox may be for you. It comes with a normal 4 button remote and an LCD remote which looks pretty nifty. I dont know if prices went up or anything yet. It also came with:

You can see it and how it worked here, it is pretty low quality video so it'll cut down on the load time..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1MLEUfvV7k

Remote Start/Stop
High pitched siren
Timed/Timer for Engine Start
Alarm
Keyless Entry
Trunk
Valet
Panic
Window option
Antihijacking
Ignition Lock
And other goodies also..

Not bad considering Remote Start Alarms are averaged at about $100+ USD. Then if you run a professional installation, it'll probably run you another 100 or so unless you have connections or anything.

I myself installed my on my own and it took about 2-3 hours. It was just a matter of finding the right cables and testing it with the meter.
