Modifying my American Yaris S

So for a couple of weeks now I am the proud owner of an 07 Yaris S barcelona red with power and ABS.

I really wanted the flint micah but these cars are so difficult to find manual in the US!
Here is what I am doing now...

1) Black Seat Covers with yaris logo.

The dealer messed up and got me the white interior instead of the black so I ended up ordering some black custom fit seat covers (i'll let you guys know how they look when I get them in)

2) Tinted Windows (getting done next week black)

3) Keyless entry/alarm (next week)

Now I'm looking at my car and I'm thinking how nice would it look dropped another inch or 2 with a spoiler....

HOW do I go about this? Where can I get a nice spoiler color matched? How much would this run me? I would like the look but I"m not willing to spend 1000 bucks to get a spoiler thats just a piece of fiberglass that cost 100 bucks to make.

Let me know... I want to get a sweet yaris going.

--Marcelo

P.S. First tank got 39 mpg and second 42 mpg... I'm hoping to get it up to 44 when I finish breaking it in. Thats about what I got with my echo.

Yaris Break-in

Germwise, I was wondering what break-in process you used for your new yaris, I picked mine up yesterday, and am not sure of the best break-in process
Thanks

I had to drive it on the highway for about an hour to get it home, but didn't rev it too high, and tried to vary my speed, hopefully I didn't kill the mpg for good

Don't worry too much about breaking in the engine. You should take it easy accelerating for the first 1k. Also, forego the cruise control. Also easy on the brakes for the first couple hundred miles. After that go nuts. My mileage has improved significantly after 3k.

Have you done your first oil change? Or are you going to wait 'till 8000km?

sorry its been a couple of days since I've checked..

First, the yaris S does not come with keyless entry standard, you just got charged for it cause you didn't check.. sometimes you have to compromise on the options.

BAD news is that it seems the yaris has a pulley system which means that installing aftermarket keyless entry is a pain in the ass. They quoted me at 800 bucks for a pulley system with 250 for a rod system. Anyone know how much work is involved and what I should do? If so I'll do it myself no matter how long it takes me.

As for break in, just take it easy on the car. That means try not to go over 55 too much. Also try not to stay at the same speed all the time. Some people really over do this....

You don't have to keep changing your speed on the highway pissing everyone off... That just means don't buy the car and start a 1000mile road trip on cruise control. If you do 50pct city driving that should be fine. Also make sure to accelerate slowly and overall go easy on the car.

I'm at about 1000 miles and in a bit i'll do my first oil change to get rid of any metal debris inside and then back to standard 3k+ changes.

my first tank I got 39, second 42 and third tank 43 miles per american gallon. it seems mileage just keeps going up as the engine breaks in.

Hope you guys like your yaris... I like it a lot but am regretting not getting a used Prius instead.... Oh well

I unfortunantly with my absent mind forgot about the breakin period. Its at 1300miles now but during the 1k i didn't do anything heavy but im regretting not doing it properly. Its was a necessary evil I over looked. Im in the low 30s mpg sometimes high 20s
