USA Accessories...Help from Canadians.

As usual the accessories for Toyota vehicles are different for the US and Canada. According to the Toyota Canada web site there are several accessories I would like to have that are not available in the US.

According to the Canadian site you can get the following accessories that are not for sell in the US.

Electrochromic rear view mirror with compass and temp. 313.40

Side Window Visors. 164.60

All Season floor mats. 82.10

I assume these are Canadian prices. I have heard many different things about buying these from the states and the shipping etc. Is it easy to order from a dealer and have them shipped to the states? Does it take a long time (customs etc) to receive them?

I would like to have these items for my 07 "S" sedan. The mirror and visors are listed as Dealer Installed so I assume you can buy them from the dealer and install them your self. Thanks for any help.

Give me a couple of days, I’ll look into them for you.

Provided they are in stock and you were to pay for them in advance, I’d be willing to bring them across the border and ship them to you from within the U.S. (it’d be nice if you compensated for this)

The border is about an hour from my house. That way you could guarantee not to get charged duty / brokerage etc.

I’ll look into the pricing and availability and take it from there.

Canada

WOW 3cyltrbo that is a very nice offer to so40 anyways I would just like to say this I don’t understand why North America cant just get all the same stuff when it comes to vehicles I think it is so stupid that we have to be different it would be a lot easier for everyone if stuff was the same when it came to cars even make the friggen emissions the same that come out of the cars instead of the U.S. having different standards than Canada it should all be the same that is my rant

If it's any help, most prices i have looked up on Toyata website include install, if you do it yourself you'll have to get a different price form the dealer. I just bought Yaris front visors for $69 CDN + $9.66 tax and installed them myself in about 30 seconds per side, Toyota website said $90+$12.60tax installed. Also, it's been a few months, so I can't remember which Yaris site I saw this on, but a guy had pics of what he had to do install sensor for mirror temp gauge, it included removing entire front bumper, looked like too much work just for a temp gauge, at least for me.

This is what I found out

Electrochromic rearview mirror ($240ish tax included / $212 +15% tax) (in stock ready to go)
Floor mats ($100 ish tax included $84? = 15% tax ) (in stock ready to go)
Vent Visors (indefinite backorder / one dealership alone had over 100 sets on backorder)

If you'd like, you pay for em and I'll drive to Ogdensburg NY with them to ship them USPS.

Let me know

(not a guarantee but there is a slight chance I could get them for you minus the 15%)

Thanks

I have been out of town and haven't been able to respond to you. Thanks for the help. I am trying to get some more information about the mirror. I could do without the outside temp part. I have installed these in my 2001 Tundra and a 05 Honda Accord and they were not that hard. However, I am not interested in taking the front bumper off. I think I might can get the window visors from the manufacturer, but I am not sure at this time. I will get back with you later. Thanks for your time.

Hi Mike,

Just wondering if your 2007 Yaris S come with chrome inside door handles, I wanted to get them for my bro Yaris, we don't get them here in Canada just one tone fabric and same color as the inside door handles that it. I kind of surprise you don't have the stuffs you want in the States because we get less stuff here like A/C is not standard on all model trim.

Thanks
TD

Yes, the inside door handles on my "S" sedan are chrome. Also the trim around the window and lock controls is a "brushed aluminum" type material. I can't understand who it is at Toyota that makes all of these decisions about why the "US" gets these accessories and the "Canadians" get something else. Seems to me it should all be the same.

3cyltrbo, according to weathertech.com they have the window visor 4 piece set for 89.95 for the 07 Yaris. They are only showing it in the "light" tint and not the dark. I have sent them an email to see when the dark will be available. I am also checking on a mirror that I can order (US) that may work. I will let you know. Thanks for the help.
