You wouldn't know until you try Dunno about the sedan but it should be no problem for the hatchback.

The biggest things I've ever fit into my Echohatch were a brand new 27" CRT Television (that's inside the box that comes with), and also a custom one-piece plywood chair. Both necessitated the rear seats to be folded down, but zero problem in terms of whether it fits.

I suggest getting a tape measurer and measure the dimensions of the trunk area, the opening to the passenger compartment when the seats are folded down, and the allowable height of the trunk when the trunk lid is closed, based on the dimensions given from that Ikea site. Good luck Amy.

Hi, I have an ECHO sedan as well and my back seats fold down, I was able to fit a whole glass computer desk in my car-of course barely...my friend gave it to me before he moved...we where able to take some of it appart but he couldn't figure out the rest and I don't think he could find the right tools, anyway the parts we did get off I put in the trunk and the table itself was in the back seat going up to the front passenger side sideways, although I did have to bring my seat up close, too close to the steering wheel and it looked funny but yes I know its dangerous that's why I was praying nothing would happend to me on the way home, most of it was freeway. Another concern I had in this case was the table or desk was glass, majority of it...so I was afraid if I did sudden manuvers it would crack or break sense there was pressure on it from being in a tight spot which can be good in this circumstance cause you don't want something fragile flying all over the place. I didn't use the fold down seats in the back cause I really had no need for them...it wouldn't really make a difference also I have a subwoofer in the back, I can still put them down its just that's mostly in the way. I was surprised I could fit it in there, the ECHO has the high roof so that helped, if it was any other car (Besides Yaris) then I don't think it would have worked...also I have a two door so that was even worst! Do you have a four door or two...can't you "easily" disasemble the Ikea furnature? If not like others have said, give it a try and if you have a four door it would be easier as far as getting it in and out...otherwise look for someone who has a van? Good luck! Let us know how it turns out! Sorry for the novel!!
