I believe it the 1NZFE, but don't quote me to that but the way you put it its the same engine code or family so maybe I don't know, all I know is I see 1NZFE under the hood of my ECHO. I live in the U.S. so we only get the 1.5ltr so maybe that would effect my anwser to your question.

Yes, both use the 1NZ, and the same C series manual transmissions...I would guess the slush boxes are the same too, but never bothered to look.

the transmission on the echo is C150N while the Yaris shares the same tranny as the XB/XA which is C56

the 6 in the C56 means really nothing its the same freaking tranny wether its a C50 or a C56 ...

p.s. stop trying to correct someone when they've actually done work to there car ... and has hands on experience...
