Anyone know if the engine mounts are the same from Celica to Echo? Other questions...

I'm thinking about picking up this cheap echo locally and making an autox car out of it. These cars are really light, 2000lbs full weight, and I think with around 180hp/150tq they'd perform quite well. I have friends with motor hookups so I was thinking about trying to drop the celica GTS engine/trans into the echo, its not much bigger, but much more powerful, and was hoping that it would be a straight bolt in procedure.

I'm also looking for suspension products for the echo, and basically any performance parts. This won't be my daily driver, I've got a mazda3s, but just a fun lightweight car.

Thanks guys

Short answer is no. But anything is possible with money and knowledge, such a swap has already been done before. Good luck on the swap if you're going through with it.
