Unhappy stupid question..

( i've had my 2007 yaris sedan for a little over 2 months.. in silver )

So i noticed yesterday a dent/scratch in my driver door (but not in the middle at the very end of the door towards the nose ) It's a dent about 2-3mm deep and several patches of paint were removed and some navy paint has been left behind. Entire dent/scrarch is about a square inch. Looks like a bike handle took a dive in my door.
My question is..

A. how quickly should i get this repaired before it rusts?
B. What will this cost me?
C. Or do i just need to buy a paint pen?

I'm a girl .. and don't know much about these things.. Wanted some helpful advice from people who know more about these things.. I know if i just go to the dealership they will just want to make an appointment and get it fixed right away.. But i might need to save a little money for that..

If a picture would help just let me know and i'll go take one.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Maybe a picture would be good...as far as rust, its not like its going to happend right away so you don't have to panic in that sense...but eventually (not like 3 years or even maybe a year) down the road wait to get it fixed. It depends on how severe the dent is, you could take it to a collision/body repair place and get a quote, if the dent isn't too bad what they do is popped it back with a suction device (sorry don't know the technicalities) of course you have to be weary about them telling you more is necissary than really is and they'll quote you something outrageous, in that case get multiple quotes from different places. If the scratches aren't too bad you could get a paint pen, find out on line or at a local dealer for the correct color, not only by name but color code (if that makes sense). I have scratches on my car as well (no I don't have a Yaris) but another thing with the scratches if they're not too deep you could buff/wax it but don't over due it otherwise you start rubbing the factory gloss off which isn't good! That's what buffing/waxing does, takes a layer off but all I'm saying is don't over due it, if your not sure have someone else do it a professional.
Anyway I'm sure others will have their suggestions, I thought I just start, but as I said a picture would be good so we can better judge the damage. I wish you luck and sorry to hear about it, I know it can be very frustrating especially on a new car!

P.S. and no its not a stupid question! That's what this forum is about-plus we'll let you know if its stupid Just kid!

Echo is right we would let you know if it was a stupid question and this one was NOT a stupid question Echo basically hit it on the head what to do if it is a dent you would have to get it sucked out I don’t know if they sell kits for dents at Canadian Tire or not but a Auto body shop will for sure be able to do the job sounds like a lot of paint has been removed definitley try to clean it up with a Paint Pen from your local Toyota dealer it will work fine unless it is a big area that needs to be repaired sorry to hear your nice new car got banged up
