For one thing (to my knowledge) there is no such thing as a 2006 ECHO, they were discontinuned after the 2005 model year, unless you got a very special one
Anyway to anwser your question...go to a certified mechanic, unless you know how to do this stuff and know the ends and outs of it, I would advise against messing with it, cause as you experienced, well you messed up, not to say a mechanic can't but your problem seems pretty strait forward for them that a certified technician can help you even the manual suggests this or something like that. Do you use your a/c often? From time to time? You might need to have your a/c "re-charged" and that you would need to go to a garage.
So let me get this right from how I'm interpeting what you wrote...the a/c works, and it does blow "cold" but you felt it wasn't good enough...I think the stuff in the car and the stuff you are using a two different things. Glad that it "fixed" itself but in my opinion if you messed with it and you're just guessing you can really ruin something and possibly hurt yourself in the process. That's just me. But you could prove me wrong, hey more power too you, but I wish you luck and keep us posted!
