They say the Yaris is involved as well but they don't give specifics

It looks like only vehicles manufactured in 2001, so my 05 Echo should be good.

"The faulty part is the latest in a string of problems requiring recalls by Toyota, raising doubts over whether the automaker can maintain quality standards amid booming sales."

Those writers are so dramatic, a problem from 2001 casting doubt on 2006+ production. Even the article title itself is a bit much. My mom still thinks the crappy Dodge she had in the 70's is reflective of Chrysler vehicles today.

Well I have a 2000 (I'm new) and am still kinda concerned. I just had a water pump and new belts put on my baby trying to get rid of a nasty sound in the bottom of the engine on the passenger side (right side). Unfortunatly it's still there. Anyway, they said there was a recall on the 2000, but I'm not sure if they are the same two.

Also notice, the 1.5 is in the Yaris, Echo, and Prius in the article, but they don't mention Scion xA or xB that have the same powerplant.
