Unhappy Problems with my Yaris; HELP?

I just got a Yaris about a month ago (June 17th to be exact) and i have had to go back to the dealership at least 10 times. If you have a Yaris with the power package and keyless entry system i have a question. I got my car with the power package and i didn't realize that it didn't come with the remote so they ordered a keyless entry system for me but the trunk release cannot be activated from the remote. I was wondering if there was anybody that had a keyless entry system on their Yaris and if it had a trunk release option.

I also picked up my 5dr Yaris a month ago with the B-Package (which has the remote entry). The remote control is embedded into the ignition key and makes for a compact setup. The regular clunky remotes seems primitive in comparison. There's 3 buttons on the remote control. A Panic button which will cause the horn the peep. An open button, which needs to be pressed twice in order to open all the locks, include the lock for the rear hatch. And the lock button.

I had a similiar experience when I took delivery of Yaris, they only had the regular keys, but no remote. Luckly, I remembered and the salesguy was in a rush to find me the right key (It took the service people 20min to provide me with one).

I don't like the fact the car only comes with one remote control. From experience, these remotes will fail after 4 years of hard use, which will make for a big annoiance in the distant future.

I wish I had a source but I faintly remember reading somewhere the Yaris doesn't have a remote trunk release for sedan (U.S. at least)...but don't quote me on that. Obviously it opens the doors but I don't think the trunk as odd as that is...maybe I wasn't too much help You can go to Yarisworld and they have tons of info and can probably help ya! (not descrediting this place of course!) Peace!

I have a PP and a keyless entry with my sedan, and you are correct. The keyless entry doesn't open the trunk. You either use the key or use the little latch inside the car by the driver's seat.

I've never heard of a keyless entry opening a trunk anyway. Would there be a seperate button to click for that, because you wouldn't want the trunk popping open every time you unlocked the rest of the car, right?

Well i have a remote that has a trunk release button on it; and all other toyota cars are the same way. You really never heard of a keyless remote opening the trunk? everycar i have seen has it; this is my first time seeing this which is why i am confused. Why would toyota make something like that.....its just stupid

The Yaris is not to be a uhh, whats the word? Anyway. Toyota has many 'a models that have that feature. Camry, Avalon, Corolla, LS, ES, GS, RX, Solara, IS, and AND?

Actually, the remote does in fact open the rear hatch for the 5dr hatch (liftback).

Well there is a difference between the 5 door (liftback) and the Sedan. I think he's referring to the sedan, in which case I doubt it has the trunk release on the key. You said that you didnt originally get the keyless entry and later had them install it. What I'm thinking is, since the key is similar to the Camry key they probably just gave you the camry key, which has the trunk release but you cannot use it for the Yaris. When in fact there should be a different key without the trunk release for the Yaris. I hope that made sense, and then again I could be wrong but that's just what it seems to have happened.
