Canada , trustworthy Mississauga area mechanics/shop?

Hi folks!

May I first say: I LOVE my Echo!!! I could not be happier with my choice of car. What a great little machine.

Is there anyone in the Mississauga area who knows of a good, trustworthy Mississauga area mechanics/shop?

I also have three more quick questions:

1. How do you take apart the passenger-side rearview mirror? The darn wire popped off its track, so I can't move the mirror. I can't see any screws anywhere to take it apart.

2. My engine light went on, so I checked all the fluids, but they are ok. What else should I be looking for?

3. How hard would it be for someone (a pretty mechanically inclined DIYer) to replace the entire floor carpet, and what are the steps if it is not too difficult?

Feel free to pm me answers.

Thanks bunches in advance for your help.

Elf

If you don't mind going to a dealer, go to Mississauga Toyota 427 & Dundas, across from the Muddy Duck. The service manager Dave, and his brother John, and also Shelly will treat you well. My wife and I have gone there for years with a variety of Toyota models and we've never had a problem. Always treated well, service is done right, and most times they don't even charge for the little things. We've never purchased a car there, but we always take them there for service - we have many people to them and they have all been happy.

You might want to go to www.matrixowners.com because I know that there was a topic about good and bad dealers (for service) in the GTA - there were olts of good ones, and definitely one or two to stay away from.

cheers

I work there in the parts department. Dave the service manager is my uncle, and John isn't his brother although they look close enough to be called twins. They are actualy cousins.

Parts! Then you're the right man to talk to! Any idea how much it would cost me to get Cruise Control installed in my 07 Yaris, 5dr LE with the B-Package?

cruise control

OK, thanks anyways. I think it'll be about $500 plus tax. Which is a little steep. It's too bad it wasn't included in the power package option.

The Yaris liftback driver's seat sits like a chair/recliner. In this sitting position, your feet arn't stretched out, so it takes a bit more effert to hold them above the gas pedal. In a short trips, it doesn't make a difference, but for the long haul, my ankle/feet will get tired in an unreasonable amount of time. Looks like i'm going to have to ante-up for C.C, whether I like it or not.
