07 Sedan Remote programing

My 07 yaris sedan with keyless (no security) only came with one remote key for the keyless entry. Apparently this is normal. I was able to aquire another remote key for a decent price. Does anyone know how to program additional remotes? Can this be done without going to the dealer?

Figured it out. For a Yaris with factory keyless remotes I used instructions for Toyota TSB EL004-01.
1- Driveres door open & unlocked. Key out of ignition
2- Insert & remove key 2 times within 5 seconds
3- Close & open drivers door twice within 40 seconds
4- Insert key into ignition & remove
5- Close & open drivers door twice within 40 seconds
6- Insert key into ignition
7- Close the door
8- Turn ignition switch from "LOCK" to "ON" & back to "LOCK"
- ONCE for ADD mode
- TWICE for REWRITE mode
9- Remove the key from ignition
10- To confirm your mode selection, the power locks will now cycle "lock" to "unlock" a
number of times corresponding to your key cycles in step 8
11- Within 40 seconds of confirmation
- Press both transmitter Lock & Ulock buttons simultaneously
- Within 3 seconds press transmitter Lock button for more than 1 second
- If successful, the power locks will cycle once (twice indicates transmitter problems)
- Repeat step 11 for additional remotes
12- Open door to exit programing

You have to open the back of the remote & look for a remote with the same FCC number as the one you have. I just typed the ID into a search in ebay for titles & descriptions & all was good from there.

Australia Remote key for YARIS

Thanks for the reply. I wonder if your original car key is the one that has the lock & unlock buttins as ppart of the key as different country might have different types?
Thanks.

Sorry, I didn't realize you were down under. You probably do not have FCC down there. My model number however is B41TG so the FCC # probably won't be right for you. Here it goes anyway FCC: MOB41TG The IC: 2584A-B41TG. The remote (lock & unlock) are part of the key (see pic) I guess look for one with the same model number. The one I got says Scion, but I didnt care, the price was right.

Thanks for the information.

Yes, The key looks exactly like mine but the key part # of mine is actually B41TA not B41TG as yours. I might take the risk of getting one like yours and try to see if it works. Will let you know how I go.

Thanks once again.

Did you get it from Ebay or from some other places as I no longer able to find the one you bought either.

Australia remote programming

Yeah - bought the key exactly the same as yours but somehow the programming just does not take the key in. Any suggestion? very frustrating.

It may not take it due to the model number nor being exact. Are the door locks reacting (locking & unlocking) when you are tryng to program it. If not you may not be doing it right.

Here is a link to the TSB I used : http://rav4world.com/tsb/EL004-01.pdf

Programming key for Yaris sedan

It looks like the key is no good for the Australian Yaris as I can get into programming mode when lock/unlock kick in but pressing the lock/unlock buttons on the remote and lock button again does not get programmed as instructed in the instructions.

Sorry to hear that. Get your hands on the right model remote that matches yours & you should be good as gold.
