C'mon, SOMEBODY has to know the trick! It usually encompasses holding the trip meter button and turning on the ignition and then inserting the buckle. It must be done in a certain fashion. Can anybody help?

Contacted Toyota Customer service and guess what: There IS A WAY TO DISABLE THE CHIMES. Problem is its in the service manual instead of the owners manual where it belongs. This means you need to either buy a service manual or pay the dealer to disable the chimes. I am working on a few service managers to try to get the info needed to disable them. If you want to disable the chimes then PLEASE HELP! Call your dealers service department and tell them that TOYOTA CORPORATE informed you that the information is in the service manual and that TOYOTA CORPORATE recommended that you bring your car to the dealer to disable the chimes. The dealer wants nothing to do with this because of liability issues so he might give one of us the "MAGIC PROCEDURE" that disables the chimes. Some MORON is selling the procedure on Ebay for Corollas!

They're not that bad... The biggest annoyance is when I have my backpack in the passenger seat, the censor gets angry that the backpack isn't buckled. I just put it in the back seat.

Hey everyone...As far as I know the chimes can not be disabled. I know they can't on the Camry's anyways..I would imagine it's the same for the Yaris. I work at a Toyota dealership and have had my techs look into this quite a few times and they can't find anything how to turn them off. I can check at work on Monday though!
