Canada Paint problems - black 2005 Echo

I LOVE my 2005 Echo, which recently celebrated its second birthday. I do have some concerns about the piant, however, and I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed the same problems. My car is Black Sand Pearl (paint code 209) and seems to be unusually susceptible to scratching. I've tried to be very careful when washing and drying it, but there are all kinds of small surface scratches. They're not that deep - probably just the clearcoat.
Has anyone else run into this problem? If so, has anyone come up with a way to correct it? I'm thinking of trying the "Ming Mirror Finish".

Hi! I have an 03 ECHO sedan with the same color, although I thought it was just called Black sand, but oh well! Anyway sorry to hear about this...but that's the territory of owning a black car, it shows everything! I made the mistake of wipping my car with a dry cloth or whatever, and my dad told me don't do that cause it will sctratch the paint, sure enough it did, but you have to look closely and it has to be in the light so its not terribly visible its surface sctraches like you mentioned. But yeah you could use some kind of wax or something forumlated to reduce or get rid of the sctraches...I personally vow my next car be a different color cause black is probably one of if not the hardest color to keep up...but at the same time its a very nice color! Although what you're experiencing probably can happen with most colors its just black shows it more than others. I don't know if you can "correct" it but I'm sure you can reduce it...good luck! I feel your pain!

I have a midnight blue toyota echo and I have been having problems with paint just randomly peeling in places. It looks as if I am going to have to get the some parts repainted.

I have an 05 Scion xA in BSP, and I feel ya; the paint is a bit soft. One of these days, I'm going to have to get down on it and get it perfect (as close as possible anyway).
