Does anyone know the approximate millege an Echo alternator should get? My 2002 has 107000 miles. I hear a screach every once in while when I turn on the AC.

To be honest I don't know but I wouldn't want to find out the hard way and be stranded somewhere...you could ask a mechanic but at that milage I'm guessing your close?? Good luck!

alternators don't screach. It is likely a belt that needs to be tensioned or replaced. Alternators don't fail necessarily from mileage or age.

Does anyone know if the NAPA remanufactured alternators or anygood?

I've used them before. Never had a problem with them. Given your problem comes when you turn on the AC, why lean to the alternator conclusion...if there's a charging problem, you will see it in far more obvious ways. It's probably the belt to the ac that needs tensioning. You said when you turn on your a/c it squeals...that's just the same time as the a/c puts load on the belt and it probably starts to slip.
