Canada Rear wheel noise in echo

I have a '00 echo that runs great except for the intermittent noise from the rear wheels (at least it sounds like it's coming from the rear wheels). Short trips are OK, but if I go any distance, the rear wheels start to make a squeeling noise that increases and decreases with the rotation speed of the wheels. My garage has had the brakes apart and cleaned them up, freed up the emergency brake pivots and checked out the hubs. When the noise starts, it will last until I park for an hour or so (going out to dinner and such) and the noise is gone when I start up again. Any suggestions or hints will be greatly appreciated.

That would be my guess. Take it out for a drive and when you get home jack up the car and spin the wheel to see if the noise is there and also wiggle the tire back and forth to check for excess play.
