So I'm getting a yaris in two weeks and i want to take my old sound system from my old car which are four 6.5 speakers, sub, and amp (for the sub) and add it to the already 'inserted' speakers. So basically i want to add 4 extra spearks into my yaris, where i would place them i have no idea, if you have an suggestions please help. Also i was wondering what the procedures on addign the 4 speakers would be, like would i have to get an extra amp, a deck that supports 8 speakers, etc...just want to know how and if this can be done. thanks.
I'm not an expert on this but having my own aftermarket system, I have some insight...with that many speakers yes you will need an amp for those and one for the sub, since you have more than 4 speakers you might have to get two amps for them...I don't want to mislead you too much so I will shut up, but I'm sure others can help! Go to crutchfield.com and they might have some anwsers for you.

I already have an amp for my sub, and wouldn't the deck be able to power 4 speakers...so wouldnt i just have to get 1 more amp?
please allow me to buut-in.. i am a yaris sedan owner and does the sound setup from my corolla to my new yaris.. the front speakers of yaris is a 6.5" so no question about that; but if you can get a component/separates (2 or 3 way) speakers would be very great. you need to drill off the rivets of the stock front speakers, yes, the front speakers are riveted & might as well use the same application when replacing them with an aftermarket speakers.
there are various kinds of setups whether you want to use an amp or the power from HU.
let me share you what i have so that you will get some idea..
i'm using a 4channel amp, if you can get a bridgeable features on amps would be great.
1st channel - right front speaker
2nd channel - left front speaker
3&4th channels (BRIDGE) - subwoofer
HU (HeadUnit)
Front speaker connection - spare
Rear speaker connection - Rear fill 6x9" speaker
The Yaris sedan is an excellent platform for a sound system. 1. The stock AM/FM/CD system sounds pretty good to start out with The radio has a relatively narrow IF channel selection filter - great for reception, but the trade off is the FM is slightly distorted The CD player's MP3 player function is excellent 2. The rear in-glass antenna is among the best in the industry 3. There is a lot of empty space behind the glove compartment for electronics 4. There is an unused rubber grommet in the firewall behind the glove compartment 5. The A-Pillar covers between the windshield and front windows pop off easily, and and it's easy to mount small dome tweeters in them - The symmetry of the dashboard due to the center-mounted cluster helps a lot, acoustically. The best place for the tweeters is as far forward as possible, in the corner between the dash, the pillar, and the windshield. The tweeters should point toward each other, i.e. they should fire parallel to the dash and parallel to the windshield. 6. The radio comes out easily. - pop off the trim below the heater controls, pop off the left and right trim covers, pop off the instrument cluster cowling, pop out the center vent cluster, pop out the radio trim. Unscrew the left and right radio mount brackets, slide out the radio assembly and unplug. Unscrew the radio from the brackets and use the brackets to install the new radio. There is an aftermarket pocket for a single DIN size radio. The trim opening is wider than an aftermarket radio, leaving a gap to the left and right of the radio. There are aftermarket brackets which I assume will cover the gaps, but I found a different solution. 7. The front door speakers/dash tweeters combination does a good front-stage rear fill illusion for the front seat listeners. Since you have a bass box, you may wish not to connect the rear 6x9's at all or drive them 20dB less than the fronts to provide rear fill for the rear passengers. Without bass box, one may wish to drive the rear 6x9's with bass only.
