i had soem problems with handling, it turned otu to be something they called "rough road foce" but from what i gathered when questioning him it was actually solmethign that wasnt screwed in all the way, in along with the alignment problem. however, the handling is admirable, it drives with only slight bumpiness that can be felt through small vibrations at around 80, but it doesnt get much worse at 100 and 110 which the car does easily. passing is good also. though there is some creaking sounds and squeels in the rear on bumpy services and the back makes strange grinding sounds when making full turns in reverse, as in, when parallel parking.
hey, the 3dr hatch rides pretty well, that is one reason why i chose it over the versa (also the versa broke down...) but when i hit the freeway speeds especially at about 80 its doesnt drive straight AT ALL i have to constantly be making adjustments to the steering. i can still lie back and hold it with one hand and just have to constantly adjust, is this a problem that i should get checked out and fixed or is it the case with all yaris 3dr (i have driven it up to and slightly over 100 mph and im still alive though) but its pretty wild at 70, almost downright ridiculous, and it is absolutly ridiculous at 80
For one thing this is an ECONOMY car, not a sports car...especially with an engine that small. But I do know what you're talking about...I personally don't have a Yaris but I have an ECHO and although the Yaris is new (I assume you're talking about the new one) I'm sure they handle similarly in some respects, one being tall up right cars with tiny engines. Also tires do play an effect on here, if you have small skinny tires, high speeds is not ideal at least not for long periods of time. I've brought my car up to 80 plenty of times and for the most part its handle decently but when I get to 90 then it shakes, that because this wasn't design to go high speeds (at least not primarly). The chassie is not a sports tuned one, also if you have crosswinds that doesn't help and the fact the car is light on its feet. If your problem is dangerous, I would have your alignment checked, but I don't think the mechanic will be sympathetic to someone who drives an ECONOMY car up to 100mph and then wonders why its not handling well. If you insist on driving that fast, get another car or re-tune your suspension, meaning lower the car, get different shocks and what not and maybe some mods under the hood.

You most have a steady cross wind in your area if you're Constanta adjusting at high speeds. In my opinion, the car seems normal at 100mph for a lightweight car with tinny tires, but if that's going to be your cruising speed, I'd look into upgrading with 7inch wide rims, followed by springs.

the yaris suspension is 47% more stiff than the echo, or so ive heard.

You are very correct and I know its a totally new platform, not darty as the ECHO is on the highway...I guess I was trying to say for an economy car don't expect supercar handeling but whatever!
