Pod filter installation

Hi everyone!

This is my first post on Toyota nation and i was hoping some of you would be able to give me some advice.

I've been trying to install a pod filter on my echo and i'm having a few issues!

I took out the original intake system and put the pod filter on the exitsing rubber pipe.... Initially i had issues getting the car to start, then i worked out that if i unclipped the air flow sensor i could get the car to start. When i went to take if for a drive the car refused to go above 3000-3500 revs.... is this something that can be solved with some clever rewiring or is there a simpler solution?

Thanks everyone... look foreward to chatting to yall bout what mods i should be doing!

Pod filter? Is that an air filter or is this something else? Is it a performance booster? Sorry I'm not too familiar with it.

No it's an intake that has a larger intake surface area than the stock filter so it allows more air to the engine and you can mount them down behind the front bar so you are feeding the engine cooler air.

I am guessing you mean a cold air intake system. Although I am not familliar with your exact setup, it sounds like the aif flow sensor may have been installed backwards. By unplugging it you are putting the engine in limp home mode where it will run & ignore that sensor. Draw back is crappy fuel economy & the reason why you can't rev past 3500. The sensor has an input & an output. Try flipping it around if possible. If that does not fix it you may have damaged the sensor. Good luck
