Performance inside of warranty?

What exactly can be done performance wise that will make a difference, without voiding warranty?

Muffler/intake? The toyota warranty manual is really vague, and can be interpreted as you can't do anything, or you CAN do anything as long as the parts are equal to or greater than a stock part...

Either way, I'm scared to even check the oil, first new car and I really don't want to void the warranty!

The courts here have pretty much said that automakers have to prove that what you did damaged the car to deny warranty. That said, they do claim that and the onus is back on you to show that it didn't. Some minor stuff is all cool, and of course, TRD products are covered by your Toyota warranty if you let the dealer install them, or at least will not void it if you install it. Hence, an intake and exhaust are fine, though a high flow cat and header from ebay may give you fits.

You could always install the parts and if you have a problem, change them out for stock before you take the car in...
