Canada yaris, changing a tire? soft metal underneath rocker panel??

hi, thank you for letting me be a part of your community seems a cool place!!

anyways, I have a 2007 Yaris Sedan, I know you are supposed to use the jack underneath the seat to change a tire, thats the proper one of course but I had quick and easy access to another type of jack, not the kind that "fits in the notch". It was very similar but on the top it was kinda like a "block shape", anyways it fit easily under the bottom rocker panel....I know that it wasn't designed for this, but it did fit that little groove well......well, it seems that after I had done changing the tire, the metal on the car was sorta pushed in a little, kinda dented, is this metal so weak there that the weight of the car would compress it?? I figured it would have to be quite strong in this area...oh my, no big deal......hope some of this makes sense......just wanted some thoughts??

Certain jacks are made for certain lift points. Lifting a body seam requires the factory jack to ensure the lifting is done over just the right spot. Lift it wrong, and you bend it slightly. There are other lift points on the car as well for picking it up with shop jacks and lifts, but those generally lift off the subframe mounts as they are by far the most secure points. You sound to have done very litle damage, but bending the seam may make it tough to fit the stock jack later depending on how much it deflected...and of course that will be at the side of the road when you have nothing else to lift it woth...murphy ownes...
