I like the 37 mpg (US). This is doing my bit to combat global warming.

I like the stick shift and the handling. It's fun to row your boat properly.

I like the potential for world class reliability. Lower total cost of ownership.

I like the low price. This is my daily driver.

Only dislike is the hard seats on long drives. Otherwise a great small car.

+ Great small car for city driving. Good MPGs. Spacious interior compared to Jazz/Fit. - Uncomfortable seats. very loud a/c or radiator fan (maybe its just on my car)

dislikes:

-cruise control is stand alone option for $500.
-AC smells when in recycle mode for long period of time
-Front windshield lets in too much sun light (better UV protection would be a solution)
-narrow tires
-restrictive leg room for front passenger (but the wife isn't tall, so its OK for her)
-No AUX port for iPod or MP3 player

Likes:

-passing power which gets better with time.
-manual transmission that gets better with time.
-dash layout (which sorely needs a 2 din DVD player)
-handling dynamics
-spacious back seats.
-easy in/out access for those with knee problems
-good brakes and smart ABS system
-rear bench easily flips forward
-easily accessible cargo tray
-good sound isolation for such a small car (but would like more)
-comfortable seats for long drives (not plush, but very supportive). More thigh support would be nice, but since it has molded to my bum, not a problem.
-2 cup holders dedicated for front passenger (one for bottle of water and the other for coffee)
-driver side glove box. very convenient if you're constantly going into he glovebox.
-good am/fm reception on standard stereo system
-sun visor that extends. (might not work for shorter drivers, but perfect for me when rotated over to block sun coming from the side window)

Pars, nicely summed up. I agree on all points. I would like to add:

Dislikes:
Limited adjustment in driving position ( seat height adjusted and telescope wheel would be nice.)
Sensitivity to crosswinds
Paint very easy to chip
Hard plastics used for interior give plethora of rattles and creaks ( my car anyway)

Likes
Exceptional winter driver ( with X-Ice snow tires )
High quality - aged better than my Honda Accord
Great reliability - started quickly after a weekend of -30C temperature ( yay Calgary!)

-30C ...I'm getting the shivers just thinking about. We've had it easy in Toronto, the worst it has been is abour 0C and no snow.

I've yet to experience any rattles in my 5dr le, but it hasn't gotten that cold down here, but winter is just starting. Also, with all the standard Dealer's installed options, hopefully they're
putting things back properly.

I would say Pars and x_enginerd have it layed out nicely.
I have an 07 hatchback with just over 17K KMS on it over the last 4 - 5 months. So far I have done nothing but the oil changes as you would expect. I too have a dash rattle of some sort on the passenger side by the windshield somewhere.
I agree with all the points stated above and would like to add though that the factory speakers are weak. This is the only thing that I entend to change from the factory hardware.
I would go for it.
