USA 2000 Echo Performance Issue

Love my Echo. Period ! 115,000 miles no issues yet !!
But recently, I been having performace issue.

I have a Manual Transmission, these days i really have to step on the gas to for the car to pickup speed, even on the 2nd gear. but after the car touchs 45-50 miles an hour on say 3rd gear, the performance comes back !!

I have been doing maintenance every 15 thousand miles, and oil change every 3K miles since i brought the card brand new on year 2000.

Please Please any pointers on how do i go about fixing it ?

Thanks

Girish

Throttle linkage? Air sensors dirty? I'm talking out of my ass but just suggestions?? Sorry I'm not too familiar with this kind of stuff. Wow, 115k. Very nice. I hope I hit that too. Although I have 2003 so my miles aren't as high...yet.

same thing happening for automatic...

I've recently noticed my automatic 2000 ECHO having the same problems. My accelleration from a stop or slow speed feels almost "exponential", rather than smooth or linear.

Sorry, I don't know what might be causing this, but all I can say is that it has not been a "consistent" problem; it has come and gone over time.
