Fuel cut off?

Hi there!
i have a problem with my 06 Yaris. Whenever I have 2 dashes or less left of my fuel gauge and I make a sharp left turn (ie. left turning lane at traffic lights) my car looses power and if I really turn hard it actually cuts right out and dies .

This only happens with 2 or less bars of fuel showing, anyone else ahve this problem?

this does make sense...if theres little gas in the tank...when you're cornering hard...fuel will slosh around and the tank and sending unit will register no fuel...

sure maybe if this turn is for minutes at a time. I have a Yaris and when my car has two bars that is a good amount of fuel left in the tank. I think he has something wrong with his car

I don't know if they have a sump in the tank or not. If not, as MRQ said, this makes sense. I guess it's possible that if it has a sump, ir may have come free as it's plastic and just stuck with a resin to the bottom of the tank. You should hear it bang around from time to time though if that is the case. You may also have a loose connection to the fuel pump too though, but it would likely show up more often than this. Your pump bracket could also be bent so the pump pickup is higher than most, but if you run it really low you should see a problem all the time. Finally, the sending unit may be reporting you have more fuel than you really do. Only way to find out really is to keep going though and see if you go empty before it says you are...

If the pump sucks any air, pressure through the system drops and you may experience a stumble as you have. Be lucky it's normally aspirated. Do that to a turbo while stainding on the go pedal and you'll kiss your pistons goodbye.

2 bars means that you still have more than 10L of fuel in the tank.

even with 1 bar left (blinking) if i do a hard turn to the left or right, wont do anything to the car... so im guessing there's something wrong with your fuel line or pump.
