When I place it in reverse, but before allowing the car to move back, a humming high pitched noise comes out of the transmission, and as I release my foot off the brake, the noise is still there however not as loud. This noise is not the normal AT noise, and it is not very loud but not low either. I've never experienced this with any AT car....does your do this too? I checked the AT fluid level and it is fine. What is going on? This is a Toyota, so I never expected this. The car has uder 500 miles on it, by the way.
