Driving is typically Echo, although the TRD suspension system, if coupled with the right tires, does add an edge to handling. It is fun to drive, especially with the standard five-speed manual transmission, but one wouldn't describe it as exciting.

But a turbocharger might fix that.
Indeed

i want 3dr....it remind me of my 323

Cute handles well its deceptively quick and deceptivly expensive with options. Oh and the hatch has half the storage space of the sedan.

Lastly its a fuggin rock magnet. If anyone decides to actually buy an Echo get a plastic rock deflector. Our hood almost looks like it has been shot.

How heavy is one of those cars, anyway? For the size it looks fairly light, but cars like that can be deceptive.

Edit: Dude! The 2003 model is only ~2000 lbs! So unless they added a bunch of crap to the car, it's probably right around that weight. That 100 hp motor is lookin' better, specially with turbo

Ours has the trim options undercoating automatic tranny. It is a slug off the line (cuz of the tranny) but I can beat most civics and neons and 4 cyl sunbirds once rolling.

Its not saying much it is still slow LOL.

Gross vehicle weight = vehicle plus occupants plus load.

Note it isn't very much, I am pretty sure my family exceeds the GVW when we load the car for holidays.

Curb weight = weight of the car full of fluids no occupants or cargo.

Dry weight = Car, no fluids.

Guess that's about right for gvw. 675/4 passengers = ~169 lbs for each passenger and his luggage. Man, you guys are fat. Or you've got way too much clothes in your suitcases.

Considering the average wieght of a male in the USA is 180 or better it is really easy to hit the limit.

Three passengers average weight = 140 lbs
Tent, cookstove, water, airmattresses, pots pans coolers toys clothes etc.

you finish the math.
