...oh and yeah, its JDM biotch!*
we have had this since feb of this year...the low end response is still not to good, middle to high range response is wonderful as vvti kicks in...future plans are as follows, HIDs or maybe just some 80/100 bulbs, trd cai, leds, neons and that would probably be it except for wheels...Carrie (me misses) really isnt into modding cars and ish like i, but i got her with my plans, she likes them...she doesn't want turbo or supercharged so the trd sc is out of the question, besides i love that 33 mpg in the city...one thing that i should of done with her saturn ion that we traded for the yaris was take the 15s off of it and swap with meh rollas 14s...i was driving away from lakeland toyota like doh, damn it...i could of had 15in wheels...btw, the saturn ion is a shit car, within the first two weeks the engine blew, three months later the tranny blows, instantly after the tranny being replaced (it got a new engine as well) it developed "shift flare" a problem that gm knows about and cannot cure...feels like the tranny is slipping going into various gears...horrible car the only decent thing was the power (lightweight with around 140whp=quick lil ride), glad we traded it...
@ the park...

...back @ home now...

the 1nz-fe 1.5l engine with vvt-i 106hp@6000rpm & 103ft-lbs torque@4200rpm, compression is high @ 10.5:1

notice the ecu is located at, if looking into the engine bay it is back to the left on the firewall, easily accessible for upgrading...

*All Yaris Models are either built in Japan or France if ya didnt know...

...group shot, white corolla, red yaris, meh rolla, misses yaris, btw my neighbors jetta next to the white rolla...

Nice pictures! Glad you like your ride.
On a side note VVT-i doesn't kick in, its always on, its not lift like Vtec or VVTL-i. Its probably just power that is mostly in the mid-range rather than lower range. I don't have a Yaris and I know my ECHO is lighter but even for an auto it can be quite peppy when you gun it at very low speeds or even idle speed. It also depends on what gear you're in, but if you have an auto I guess you don't have much choice. As well as the fact it can damper "performance."

Congrats and thanks for the pictures. Yeah the ION is a crap car too bad people keep copying its design like the Sebring and the Nissan Sentra, at least there are hints of it. But the replacement for the ION is worth noting a rebaged Opel Astra, that's actually a good looking car IMO. Although the only thing bad is the interior, its blah! But that's GM! Even if that was the original interior as far as design GM could have spiced it up a little but that would cost money...maybe later.
