Question Is my new 08 yaris antifreeze already winter ready?

Hi I wanted to know how in the world to check my antifreeze? You know w/ the little thing that floats to show temperature endurance of the antifreeze?

I used to be able to stick the thing in the bottle or radiator of old car and check it. This one..no.

The bottle is too deep and blocked by somehting and the radiator not to be accessed the radiator cap is on a hose.

Can I assume the car lot had it at right temp rating? We just got it in oct it was made end of the summer.

Wouldnt it of been okay if it was on thier lot? Tho it did at some point come from Va and we are in N.E. usa.

I dont like not being able to do simple maintenance like this I cant afford a dealer or mechanic all the time..what about air filter (carb one)?
The engine is encase Im not savy enought to remove that in our apt lot.

Will my ase cert local mechanic know what fluids to replace with in future?

Thanks!!
