wheres my power

I have an 02 Echo and I have been haveing a delay in power. I put my foot into it and shift and theres a few second delay in the power. It dosent tend to happen when the cars warmed up. Its not the first time it happened last winter but it went away in spring. Any ideas?

Try this: drive the car at low rpm steadily until the engine warms up (when that temperature icon goes away). When the engine's properly warmed up, floor away

I believe the car can also "learn" the way the person drives, so if I'm driving slow most of the time (for fuel economy), the car will appear to be less "enthusiastic" especially the way the engine outputs the power. Some people elect to disconnect the battery to "clear out" that learning memory from the car's computer. I on the other hand just keep it in a lower gear and floor the pedal until it reaches redline, that will sort of wake up the car's computer, letting it know I wanna have some fun

I've driven the Auto Echo and found that the gearbox is abit sloppy/slow (that's why I bought the Manual). but yeah, don't drive the car hard when the engine is still cold (gearbox oil might take a little longer to warm up)
