07 Yaris Defroster/Compressor Hack?

Hello all: I had an '03 CR-V in which the air conditioning compressor turned on when you put it into defrost. As it's often very cold where I live, I obviously wanted a way around this. There was a simple sequence I got off the internet which fixed it on that car.

Now, I'd like the same thing on my Yaris. Any ideas? thanks, gt

Just an idea: turn A/C on manually by pushing the button

It automatically turns the compressor on when I switch it to defrost, defrost/floor mode on the dial. I'd like to manually turn the compressor on when needed, but when it's below zero I don't want it on. Or, at least not until the engine has warmed up a bit.

Did I make it clearer?

The CR-V 'hack' involved something akin to hitting the ac button twice, then turning the key on/off in some sequence. This allowed me to manually turn on the ac compressor only when I wanted it on.
thanks, gt

Ok after reading i think its obvious what your asking and i think i have a solution.... get a bat.... then smash your way into your yaris and dont stop smashing their, after ripping your way inside and pulling some stuffing out of your seats start smashing the console and ac controls with a bat, after you can see the yaris insides do the same to your neighbors car and then their neighbors etc... all the while ranting about how the aliens are monitoring everyone through use of the compressor. YOu will then be institutionalized and you will no longer have this problem

Yes, now it's clear, thanks We need a Yaris owner to chime in here. I own the Echo hatchback, and I need to manually turn A/C on with the A/C button. So I thought the case will be the same in the Yaris, where the A/C will not automatically come on unless the button is pushed. I apologize for not being able to help directly.

Does the operation manual have any info regarding this?
